1. About this Policy
This Policy explains how SwaMiti uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies on swamiti.com.
For simplicity, the word “storage” in this Policy may include:
- HTTP cookies;
- local storage;
- session storage; and
- similar browser technologies.
This Policy is intended to be read together with the Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Technical Disclaimer.
2. Our approach
SwaMiti aims to keep its use of cookies and browser storage limited and understandable.
The current launch model separates storage into:
- Necessary — required for site operation, security, and remembering privacy choices;
- Functional / Preferences — optional storage used to remember user-selected interface preferences;
- Analytics — optional storage used to understand site usage, only where the visitor permits it;
- Advertising / Marketing — not used at launch.
SwaMiti does not intend to use advertising, remarketing or behavioural-advertising cookies at launch.
3. Necessary storage
Necessary technologies are used for functions that are required to operate the site, manage consent choices, support security, or provide essential technical behavior.
CookieYes consent cookie
Name: cookieyes-consent
Type: Cookie
Provider: CookieYes
Purpose: remembers the visitor’s cookie/consent choices and consent identifier so that SwaMiti can respect those choices on later visits.
Category: Necessary
Duration: until the configured consent period expires, the visitor changes their choice, or the cookie/site data is cleared.
CookieYes may also maintain a consent record for proof-of-consent purposes as described in the Privacy Policy.
WP Consent API consent-state cookies
Name: wp_consent_*
Type: Cookies
Provider: WP Consent API / compatible WordPress plugins
Purpose: communicates category-level consent state between compatible WordPress plugins.
Category: Necessary consent-management storage
Duration: according to the consent/plugin configuration in use and until the relevant consent state is replaced or site data is cleared.
WordPress emoji-support session storage
Name: wpEmojiSettingsSupports
Type: Session Storage
Provider: WordPress
Purpose: remembers browser capability information used by WordPress emoji-support logic during the browsing session.
Category: Necessary / technical
Duration: session-based.
4. Functional / Preferences storage
Functional / Preferences storage is used to remember choices that improve convenience but are not required to perform the core function.
Unit Converter visible-unit preference
Name: swamiti.uc.visible-groups.v1
Type: Local Storage
Provider: SwaMiti Unit Converter
Purpose: remembers which Unit Converter unit groups the visitor chooses to display for each quantity.
Category: Functional / Preferences
Content: interface preference information only; it is not intended to store calculation values.
Duration: persists in the visitor’s browser until cleared, reset, or removed following withdrawal of the relevant consent where implemented.
The Unit Converter is intended to continue working without persistent preference storage.
Where Functional / Preferences consent is not granted, these display selections are not intended to be persistently stored across visits. If Functional / Preferences consent is withdrawn, the saved preference is intended to be removed. SwaMiti verifies this behavior when the Unit Converter or consent integration is materially updated.
5. Analytics storage
SwaMiti has prepared a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property and intends to use it through Google Site Kit for WordPress only after the site’s policies and consent controls are in place.
Analytics is optional.
Where the visitor does not allow Analytics, SwaMiti intends not to activate GA4 analytics storage or tracking for that visitor under the configured prior-consent approach.
When Analytics consent is granted, GA4 may use cookies including:
_ga
Provider: Google Analytics
Purpose: helps distinguish browsers/visitors for analytics measurement.
Category: Analytics
Typical duration: up to 2 years under Google’s standard configuration.
_ga_<container-id>
Provider: Google Analytics
Purpose: maintains session/state information for the relevant GA4 property.
Category: Analytics
Typical duration: up to 2 years under Google’s standard configuration.
The exact property-specific cookie name and duration may vary with Google configuration and will be reflected in this Policy if the live implementation differs materially.
SwaMiti does not intend to enable Google Ads, advertising personalization, remarketing, Google Signals, or user-provided-data collection at launch.
6. Google Search Console
SwaMiti may use Google Search Console to understand how swamiti.com appears in Google Search.
Search Console domain ownership is intended to be verified through DNS.
Search Console is not being treated as a visitor analytics cookie service on SwaMiti under this setup.
7. Technologies not used at launch
At launch, SwaMiti does not intend to use:
- advertising or marketing cookies;
- remarketing tags;
- Google Ads tracking;
- Microsoft Clarity;
- other session-recording or behavioural-analytics services.
If such technologies are introduced later, this Policy and the Privacy Policy will be updated before or at the time they are enabled, and appropriate consent controls will be applied.
8. Consent categories shown to visitors
The SwaMiti consent interface is intended to offer clear choices for:
Necessary
Always active where required for site operation, security and consent management.
Functional / Preferences
Optional storage used to remember interface preferences such as Unit Converter display selections.
Analytics
Optional GA4 analytics used to understand site usage.
SwaMiti does not currently use separate Performance or Advertising / Marketing storage purposes at launch.
9. Giving, changing or withdrawing consent
SwaMiti uses CookieYes as its consent-management interface.
Visitors can use CookieYes to:
- accept optional categories;
- reject optional categories;
- choose available categories individually; and
- change or withdraw their choices later.
A persistent Cookie Settings or equivalent control is intended to remain available on the site so that consent can be revisited.
Necessary storage may remain active where it is required to operate the site or remember the visitor’s consent choices.
10. Consent records
Where CookieYes consent logging is enabled, CookieYes may record information such as:
- the consented domain;
- consent date and time;
- consent identifier;
- general location or jurisdiction;
- pseudonymized / partially masked IP address;
- overall consent status; and
- category-level consent choices.
This processing is described in more detail in the Privacy Policy.
11. Browser controls
Visitors can also use their browser settings to:
- view cookies and browser storage;
- delete stored information;
- block cookies; or
- clear site data.
Blocking or deleting necessary site data may cause some functionality or consent preferences to reset.
Deleting Functional / Preferences storage may reset saved Unit Converter display choices.
12. Updates to this Policy
SwaMiti may update this Policy when:
- cookies or browser-storage technologies change;
- analytics services are added or removed;
- account or Community features are introduced;
- consent-management configuration changes; or
- legal requirements change.
The current version and last-updated date are made available on this page.
